STEVEN’S BODY SCAN AND HIS PET PARENTS’ SEARCH FOR HEALTH

ree

Steven’s pet mom asked me to speak with him as he had been acting strangely, in that he would look up and his body would start shaking. At the time of this writing, the behavior has been occurring for 5 days off and on.

I was on the zoom call with Steven’s pet parents when Steven and I connected. He instantly announced that he is a pretty boy, to which his people chuckled and agreed.

Steven told me how much he enjoyed the walks, especially when he was able to run loose and scare the wild animals. He told me he is good at coming right back when called and his pet parents told me he definitely did that. He told me he likes to catch a ball; the same way you would a frisbee. His mom told me, no, Steven is not a ball boy. He likes to search for treats that we throw to him and he tries to catch them in the air. Looks like I got unclear information here. That can happen, and the pet parents helped clear it up.

Back in the house, Steven told me he prefers kibble and dog treats. His pet mom told me he eats raw food, but it is good to know he likes kibble. They will look at changing his diet. I asked Steven what he liked to do in the house and he told me they all watch television together. He also told me he has a favorite out of the three cats in the house, but didn’t say which one. His pet parents knew which cat Steven was talking about.

There is a departed dog named Kevin who visits frequently and Steven gets to talk a lot with him.

Getting to the purpose of our session, I asked Steven what does who you are feel like in your body? He responded, “I feel ruffled; confused. My body shakes and I don’t understand it. It throws me off balance. I am confused in my head.”

I asked him what may you need to help you feel better and he told me, “Have things stop spinning.”

Since his pet parents were going to take him to the veterinarian, I did a body scan, which revealed: A sensation in the top of his head and a strange feeling in his eyes. There was also a cold feeling in both his front paws and discomfort in his low back. I am not a doctor and by law cannot diagnose, but this information may be useful for the veterinarian to determine what is bothering Steven.

There was one more thing Seven’s pet parents wanted me to ask him about and that was his excessive barking. In answer to the question what was the barking about, he told me he was asking for more attention. And they agreed, that was what they thought he wanted. I know he gets lots of attention because we have worked together before, and I know all their pets get lots of love and attention. But, don’t our pets always want more?

Here is an update from Steven’s pet mom.

Dear Barbara!

We've been to the chiropractor yesterday with Steven. The result is that his shoulder blades are compressed by the harness we have. We are now going to buy a new harness that does not compress the shoulder blades. Just as you conveyed, this causes symptoms on the eyes and the upside of the head. Making things spinning. It makes him also feel discomfort in his lower back. So, your body scan was perfect. As for the cat that is Steven's favorite of our three cats, it's Kaxe or Mr. Max as we call him. They always kiss and cuddle.

Sending Love and hugs!!
